Alashiya is named after the oldest recorded name for Cyprus, the island where some of the earliest evidence of perfumery in the world was found. Archaeological discoveries reveal vessels once filled with resins, flowers, and oils used in ceremony, healing, and daily life. 

This brand is a return to that origin.

Omar Suleyman is the founder and scent artist behind Alashiya. 

Raised between London and Cyprus, trained in science and guided by a lifelong fascination with history, plants, and culture, he began blending oils for himself and his community long before Alashiya existed. 

The brand grew from that private practice into something he felt compelled to share.

Every perfume is hand-blended and bottled by Omar in small batches using only pure botanical materials. Essential oils, absolutes, resins, and plant extracts. Nothing synthetic. Nothing artificial. The same category of ingredients people have been working with for thousands of years, sourced today for the highest quality available.

The collection is named after goddesses of the ancient world; Anat, Astarte, Ashera, Ishtar, and Inanna, the oldest of them all. These were figures who presided over beauty, desire, and the sacred across the Ancient Near East, their stories eventually merging into Aphrodite, whose cult was born in Cyprus. Each name carries a mythology that is woven into the formula it represents.

In ancient Cyprus perfumery was not a luxury for the elite. It was made and worn by everyday people, shared among families, woven into the rhythm of daily life. That spirit is at the heart of everything Alashiya makes.
